| Varuna Entertainment was established on one founding principal: inspired storytelling. Whether the project is film, television or commercial, the charge is always the same—find the best story and breathe life into it. Founded in 2000 by partners Al Bazzy, Jason Morgan, and Robert Zazzali, Varuna led the way in high definition video production for feature films, music videos, and corporate media. The company’s mastery of hi-def technology got Varuna noticed. The storytelling made Varuna notable.
This distinctive storytelling built Varuna Entertainment into a full-service production company with a growing list of cinema-verite, documentary, and story-based reality programming for MTV Networks. Recent seasons include the major hit “Trick My Truck”, “Home Blitz with Habitat for Humanity”, and the NASCAR racing doc series “The Drive”. As the company continues to gain recognition for its unparalleled production value, current projects in development include both reality and scripted programming..
Executive Producers Jason Morgan, Al Bazzy, and Robert Zazzali began their tenure in the entertainment business producing films and music videos. Their talents were immediately called upon for commercial productions by companies such as Nissan, Kia, and the American Heart Association. Their first breakout docusoap series, “The Drive”, for CMT launched their rapid success in the television industry.
Prior to entering the entertainment business, Jason designed performance racing tires for the BFGoodrich division of Michelin Tire Corporation. He graduated egregia cum laude with a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Illinois and holds multiple design patents.
Robert, known to many as “Bobby Z”, graduated from Georgetown University with a B.A. in History. Before moving to Los Angeles, Rob worked at the Prosecutor’s Office of Monmouth, New Jersey in the Special Investigation Forensics Unit.
Al Bazzy, a successful entrepreneur in Michigan, started in the entertainment business in 1997. Moving straight from business management school to running a family business, Al was soon overseeing twelve locations with more than 67 employees. He is always looking for the next challenge and continues to pursue “the next big thing” with several new successful business ventures every year. |
